I quit fishing for a while there. I finally went again this past weekend and it was like meeting an ex-girlfriend that I fell in love with all over again. I didn’t catch a decent fish all day long Saturday and I didn’t even care. All I did for the majority of the day was embrace the views, the smells, the sights and the scenery. I was again reminded of the reason why I love this game so much.
It’s been a tough summer for me both fishing and for me personally. I was battling with depression and struggling getting back on track to be where I wanted to be in the fishing industry. To correct that I had to put the right people in my life and Saturday I had a renewed since of passion and spirit. That passion is something I had been lacking for the past few months. As you may could tell from some of my prior blog entries, I was pretty down on myself and fishing in general. I think it’s safe to say I’m out of my funk and I’m getting back in the saddle (err, back on the bow of my boat) and I’m ready to pick back up where I left off on Falls Lake last July.
So here we go!!! Stay tuned because business is about to pick up! I’m headed to the Chowan River this Saturday and the Tar River on Sunday to really get back in touch with myself and lay down the #BoomShakaLaka.
See ya soon!
