One of my goals going into this fishing season was to qualify for the FLW BFL Regional Championship. This morning I received confirmation that I did in fact qualify for that tournament on the James River on October 12-14! I received an email with an official letter attached directly from the FLW.
I am still overall disappointed in how I finished the season in the BFL’s. However, knowing I did accomplish one of my goals makes things all the better. I am looking for redemption on the James River next month. River fishing is right up my ally as that’s where I have the most experience. I’m looking forward to this!
So, whats the big deal about the Regional Championship? Well, first of all there is no entry fee for the tournament yet the winner of the tournament will take home $20,000 and a new Ranger Bass Boat! It is a 3 day Tournament so consistency and a solid game plan will be crucial for me. A lot of practice will be needed the week of the tournament. The tournament begins on Thursday. The full field of approximately 200 boats will fish the first 2 days and the top 12 will fish the third day.
There is no so much to get in order. Travel arrangements, lodging, work, etc. etc. etc. But it’s exciting and I can’t wait. Here’s the letter sent to me from the FLW
