2015 NCBFN Eastern Qualifier

This weekend I am fishing the North Carolina Bass Federation Eastern Qualifier Tournament. So? What makes this any different from any other tournament? Well, the NCBFN is comprised of bass clubs from all over the state of North Carolina.

The top 6 anglers in each club get the opportunity to fish a qualifier for their specific region (East or West). So essentially you’re fishing against the best anglers in the state.

Whats the reward for winning? A shot at fishing the Bassmaster Bass Nation Regional Qualifier tournament. So it’s essentially a tournament that will allow you to move forward and “up the ranks” if you place high enough.

You don’t have to win this tournament to move forward but you are required to do very well. Last year the top 14 anglers were selected to move onto the National Regional tournament. So this tournament is a big deal. Around 120 anglers will be competing.

I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to fish it. Truthfully, I wasn’t in the top 6 anglers in my club. But because 2 people were unable to fish it I was next in line to go. And of course I said yes to the opportunity. The event is a 2 day tournament on Lake Gaston in Littleton, North Carolina.
